| The Allegro
road bike we designed last year was just so smooth, so dialed, that
we couldn’t stop ourselves from creating a hardtail mountain
bike with same Ritchey BAB technology.
Once again, we called up our old friend Joe
Murray, mountain bike hall of famer, two-time U.S. mountain bike
champion, and probably the most respected name in steel hardtail design,
to help us design the bike. Our goal was to build the bike that every
person on the Dahon product design team wanted as a personal go-anywhere-in-the-world
ride. With Joe’s frame geometry and Reynolds’ 631 air-hardened
steel tubing, the bike delivers a ride that’s so smooth, yet
lively, that it’s hard to believe if you’ve only ridden
aluminum mountain bikes. The FLO is a true XC greyhound, weighing
only 10.2 kilos (22.4 lbs.). 15 minutes (10 if you’re good) is
all it takes to pack the FLO into a tiny suitcase for easy portability.
With the FLO, the only reason to leave your bike at home is if you’re
lazy. |
